Illustration for Chinitsu Yaku: A Pure Suit With No Honors

Chinitsu ("pure suit", full flush) means all 14 tiles in your hand come from exactly ONE suit -- no honor tiles at all. It's worth 6 han closed, 5 han open, nearly touching Mangan/Haneman territory from this one yaku alone.

When Chasing Chinitsu Is Realistic

Chinitsu is most realistic when your hand already leans heavily toward one suit from the very first few turns. Forcing it mid-game is usually too slow and risks a big deal-in to an opponent.

Common Combos

Chinitsu + Ittsuu (if the shape happens to be 1-2-3, 4-5-6, 7-8-9 within one suit) or Chinitsu + Riichi + Dora can easily reach Baiman (roughly 16-han-equivalent) territory, one of the most expensive realistic hands short of a yakuman.

An example Chinitsu hand -- all 14 tiles from the Circles suit alone, with no honor tiles at all.

Because every tile comes from one suit, opponents can often read it coming and start holding onto that suit's tiles -- weigh this speed-versus-risk trade-off.
